According to Sky News reporter Sherine Tadros, things are so bad for Yazidis trapped in Iraq by ISIS that children had to drink blood just to survive.
She also recounted a story told by one man who said he saw four children die of thirst and they had to be buried by simply placing rocks on their bodies.

Meanwhile, the Obama administration may back off helping those trapped, according to a report at Time:
The Pentagon may rule out an emergency evacuation mission, after a successful U.S. Army Special Forces mission to check on thousands of stranded Iraqis revealed that conditions have improved more rapidly than expected for the refugees.
“The Yazidis who remain are in better condition than previously believed and continue to have access to the food and water that we have dropped,” said Pentagon Press Secretary Rear Admiral John Kirby
