Wendy Davis hyperventilates, attacks Greg Abbott over dildos

davis2It seems Wendy Davis, the Texas Democrat known as “abortion Barbie,” never learned the first rule about holes.  Digging them, that is…  Now, she’s attacking Abbott over — get this — dildos.  Seriously.

Just three hours after implying Abbott, her GOP opponent in Texas’ gubernatorial election, would support a ban on interracial marriage — despite the fact that he’s married to a Latina — the Davis camp issued a press release that included an article from the progressive Texas Observer entitled, “Greg Abbott: Dildos? Against ‘em. Interracial Marriage? No Comment.”

Christopher Hooks wrote at the Observer:

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

In 2008, Abbott chose to defend the state’s ban on the sale of sex toys, a case that emerged from the fallout of Lawrence v. Texas. Over the years, Abbott has deployed novel legal arguments against gay marriage. But this wasn’t a case about gay marriage, a subject that still animates sincere moral disagreements. This was a case about every American’s god-given right to buy dildos.

Translation: How dare Abbott do his job and defend the laws passed by the state legislature and enacted by the governor.

The Daily Caller added:

It seems the reason the Davis campaign thought it was a good idea to send out the email was because Hooks agrees with their claim that Greg Abbott “likely would have defended a ban on interracial marriage, according to his own principles and record. He wouldn’t have known how not to.”

Except for a couple of details, which aren’t exactly so minor.

First, Abbott is married to a Latina, a woman who would become Texas’ first Latina first lady should Abbott win.  Second, Abbott already said a ban on interracial marriage would be unconstitutional.

But that would require something called “thought,” a commodity very much in short supply on the left.
