Report: Obama-supporting Costco pulling D’Souza’s best-selling ‘America’ from shelves

AmericaIf you want to buy Dinesh D’Souza’s best-selling book “America: Imagine the World Without Her,” you won’t be able to find it at Costco before long.  According to WND’s Jerome Corsi, Costco Wholesale has issued an order pulling all copies of the book from its shelves by July 15.

“D’Souza’s book, released June 2, is ranked No. 43 overall and is the No. 3 hardcover book in Amazon’s Politics and Government section and No. 1 in the Commentary and Opinion subsection of Politics and Government,” Corsi noted.

But the book rebuts the Obama administration, which Costco has supported.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

“If true, this would be very odd,” D’Souza said.  “We’re in the process of finding out what’s happening. I look forward to getting to the bottom of this and continuing the strong relationship my publisher and I have always had with Costco and their millions of shoppers.

But would it be odd, really, given the way progressives operate?

Writing about the romance between Costco and Obama, the Washington Post’s Jaime Fuller said:

Costco founder Jim Sinegal is a vocal supporter of Democratic politicians. His company gave more than $2o million during the 2012 election cycle (mostly supporting issues and politicians in Washington state). Over the course of Obama’s presidential career, Costco has given $100,000 to him and another $100,000 to Priorities USA, the pro-Obama super PAC.

Sinegal even spoke at the 2012 Democratic National Convention — the one where Democrats booed God three times and where delegates could buy calendars calling Obama “prophesy fulfilled.”

Video of that speech can be seen below:

Of course, Sinegal has every right to support the candidate of his choice.

But it sure seems odd that a company known to be quite close to Obama is pulling a best-selling book critical of the president.
