Thuringer State, Germany – Muslims used iron bars and stones to riot over pages torn from a Qur’an  at a Refugee Center in Germany. As fires were set, police had to lock themselves inside a building, and journalists had to “run for their lives.”

Rioting Muslims

One man inside the center tore some pages out of a Qur’an and threw them in the toilet, which infuriated the man’s Muslim roommate. As a mob of about 50 people formed and tried to lynch him, police stepped in to help him, but the mob turned on them.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

About 50 Muslims attacked journalists with iron bars,  screaming “Allahu Akbar!” Police were pelted with stones as they backed away from the angry mob until reinforcements arrived. Windows were smashed, and residents of the area reported the situation was like a “war.” The rioting went on for 4 hours.

Speigel reports,

The result: at least 16 injured, including six police officers. Seven damaged police vehicles, more broken cars and a “completely smashed entrance refugee accommodation” as a police spokesman tells.

125 police officers and numerous paramedics were on site after the rioting. Special tents had to be set up to treat the wounded.

Is overcrowding to blame?

The Prime Minister of Thuringer State, Bodo Ramelow,  suggested that from now on, the different ethnic groups should be separated in the center in order to “avoid conflicts.” Officials felt that the situation occurred because of overcrowding.

Breitbart stated,

Local media reports that while the center is rated to hold a maximum of 1,200 people, presently over 1,800 live there. …the German government revised its annual asylum estimated upwards, as they reacted to the heavier than anticipated flow of human traffic across the Mediterranean and up the Balkans. Until this week the government reassured its people there would only be 450,000 asylum applications in 2015 – still the highest figure every recorded for the country, but what they considered manageable. Yesterday, it was moved to 800,000.

Overcrowding can be part, but only part,  of the issue. German officials might want to think about the volatile nature of the religion rather than just the housing accommodations. A few weeks ago, another incident occurred at the same center, and 8 people were injured. But Islam is a religion of peace, remember? And when was the last time you heard about Christians rioting if someone tore a page out of a Bible?
