Obama’s plan to federalize police

On March 2,  Barack Hussein Obama  released a report that reveals a plan to take over state and local policing- in one of those backhanded ‘Progressive’ actions. Using Ferguson, Missouri as the catalyst for his move, he is using verbiage like “opportunity,’ and ‘transform’ to make state and local policing agencies to do things his way.

“We have a great opportunity… to really transform how we think about community law enforcement relations. We need to seize that opportunity… this is something that I’m going to stay very focused on in the months to come… I expect our friends in the media to really focus on what’s in this report and pay attention to it.”  Obama

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Tightening the screws

The report  was written by the “Task Force on 21st Century Policing.” It attaches strong restrictions and conditions on police agencies across the country to their receipt of Federal funding.

Having been a member of the law enforcement community for over 31 years, I can tell you that the paperwork and restrictions involved in receiving Federal funding are already high. But having the Federal government place even more restrictions on how they operate will cause departments around the country to do one of two things: A) get rid of the federal funds, or B) fall in line with the government. More than likely the latter rather than the former, because they simply don’t have the funds to keep following those rules and regs. Most departments are already in deep with Federal grants.

The Daily Caller reported,

“Obama’s strategy matches the progressive playbook, which continuously expands progressives’ power by gradually adding more conditions to federal aid. That same strategy is implemented in education via the “Common Core” education plan, in the health-sector via Obamacare, in the banking industry via the mortgage rules that caused the damaging property bubble and in housing via Obama’s “regionalism” plan.”

It all sounds so innocuous. So helpful. They’re just here to “help” us. Regulations are important to the “progressive” agenda. The tighter the screws, the better the control.

The “lists”

Ever heard of the Gestapo? How about the SS – Schutzstaffel?  Too young to touch base with the history of Nazi national police forces that were brutal, unyielding, and murdered literally millions? What about the  NKVD, and Cheka (KGB)- Russian secret police that murdered over 500,000 Russians?

You’ll say it “can’t happen here.” But as the administration’s agenda moves forward, the possibility grows that each small step toward federalization of the police will create  the scenarios to make it happen. We have nearly two years left — Obama has “promised” to make this a major focus for those two years. He told us in his first year that a national police force was his goal. Perhaps now you will listen and see his plan for what it is.

Armed with the government’s “lists” of dangerous people and groups, the departments will have to comply with the “rules” or the money will dry up. From the Nazis to the arms of Lenin and Stalin, there are examples riddled throughout history of what happens with federal control of police agencies. However that control is created, the results are always the same.

A Russian history lesson that sounds all too familiar from The History Learning Site:

The Cheka hierarchy had given itself a list of those it should suspect as being ‘enemies of the state’. Clearly anyone who had fought for the Whites during the civil war was high on their list as were former officers in the Imperial Army. Also anyone who owned property valued at 10,000 roubles or more was on the list. They also had the full support of Lenin himself who wanted the swift round-up of ‘enemies of the people’. This support meant that there was little to stop the Cheka becoming an immensely powerful organisation that answered to few people. If anyone from on high questioned what they were doing, the answer they got was simple: ‘we did it for the people’.

“We did it for the people.” Have you heard this before? They just want to help. Wake up.
