TCU- Texas Christian University- seems to have lost its foundation somewhere in the liberal trap of political correctness. They suspended 19 year old Harry Vincent because he expressed his opinion on Twitter about Mexicans, the Baltimore riots, and Islam.
The “inappropriate” Conservative view
Nearly all liberal colleges and universities across America have a clause they arbitrarily use to restrict free speech: their “behavioral standards.” They view Conservative opinions as “inappropriate.” Whether it’s a private college like TCU or a public one, free speech is relative depending on who you are.
But for some reason, Muslim students can protest loudly with vicious rhetoric. Mexicans can complain and b**** about everything American. But if a Conservative Christian does it…horrors. The punishment is severe.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
In Harry’s case, a former middle school classmate who saw his tweets, complained to the University and urged her followers to do the same. According to Todd Starnes from Fox News, she has no ties to TCU. When she confronted him, he called her a s***head.
According to the Fox News article, Vincent only called the Mexican woman a “sh**head” because she “bashed” the Armed Forces and said that America deserved what it got on 9-11.
He used the word “beaners” to describe Mexicans, something which he says he regrets. But he stands by the other remarks fully.
“These hoodrat criminals in Baltimore need to be shipped off and exiled to the sahara desert. Maybe then they’ll realize how much we provide for them (welfare, college tuition, Obama phone’s, medicare, etc.)”
About Islam, he tweeted, “This is clearly not a religion of peace.”
Harry is a white Christian student, a member of College Republicans and Young Americans for Freedom. And apparently he is not allowed to express himself.
Freedom of speech is dead on American campuses.
“Dean Robinson said I was going to need to write an apology letter and a letter stating what sort of punishment I thought I deserved. She told me not to use Freedom of Speech as a defense – or else I would be more severely punished.”
“Dean Robinson believes I am somehow damaged – she thinks there’s something wrong with me because of what I put out there on social media. She told me how my conservatives views were inappropriate.”
According to Starnes,
“On April 29 TCU sent Harry a letter accusing him of violating the university’s code of student conduct – specifically he was accused of ‘infliction of bodily or emotional harm’ and ‘disorderly conduct.'”
Re-education
Vincent was “sentenced” to 60 hours of community service, suspended from most college activities, and required to attend “diversity training.”
In other words, they want to “re-educate” Harry Vincent into their liberal thought process.
But he appealed…which touched off a firestorm against him.
Anyone with half an ounce of American blood in them would have called the woman worse than just a s***head. She started what Starnes called a “Twitter Lynch mob” that caused his difficulties.
Harry says he may not go back to TCU, since his disciplinary action will stand until 2018- the year he graduates. Instead he is thinking about joining the Marines. Good choice, young man.
