A US Marine’s First Salute – The Beginning and Now (Video)
A video created of US Marine 2dLt Charlotte L. William’s first salute with her Grandfather,  retired US Marine Staff Sergeant James Williams went nearly viral back in 2013.  It was a special start to the career of a woman who loves her country.
In a ceremony at the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Quantico, Virginia, on August 9, 2013, SSgt Williams delivered to 2dLt Williams – his granddaughter- her very first salute. The touching moment caught on video has left lumps in everyone’s throat that has viewed it.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
A grandfather’s influence
Williams graduated from Dartmouth College with a degree in history. She studied Arabic and governmental studies as well.
In March of 2014, the 2dLt graduated from TBS– The Basic School at Quantico with honors. She received the Writing Award for an essay entitled “Foundation of Understanding,”which dealt with  communicating effectively to subordinates so that they could get the job done.
“Everyday that I am in the Marine Corps is a confirmation of how much I love my country and I love my freedom and I will do whatever it takes to protect it….I just want to take care of my Marines and I want them all to respect each other. My main priority is taking care of my Marines when I get into the fleet.” 2dLt Williams upon graduation from TBS in 2014
Williams is currently assigned to Combat Logistics Regiment 2, General Support Motor transport, Camp LeJeune, according to the Marine Corps Association.
It is often the influence of parents or grandparents that create patriots for America. We wish 2dLt Charlotte Williams well. Thank you and your Grandfather for your service.
